Family Medicine • Women's Health • Preventive Healthcare • Chronic Disease
A strong background in family medicine and primary healthcare, with particular experience in women's health and preventive care.
View ProfileFamilies rarely need healthcare one person at a time. A child might need a GP appointment this week. A parent may be due for a health check. Someone else may be managing an ongoing condition or taking regular medication.
Family medicine brings those different healthcare needs together: from newborns and children through to adults and older people, all through one family practice at our Cannonvale medical centre.

The things you speak to your GP about when your child is young are very different from the questions that come up in your 30s, 50s or later in life. Instead of treating healthcare as a series of unrelated appointments, your GP can support you through different stages of life while keeping the wider picture in mind.
Stage 1
Common childhood illnesses, preventive healthcare, immunisation discussions and follow-up where required.
Stage 2
Growing-up health questions, general wellbeing and mental health, with care appropriate to their age.
Stage 3
Everyday medical concerns, women's and men's health, preventive care and health assessments.
Stage 4
Busy years where mental wellbeing, medication reviews and ongoing conditions often sit alongside each other.
Stage 5
Longer-term conditions, medication review, coordination of care and monitoring health changes over time.
There is no single version of family healthcare. It changes with you.
Your family doctor may help with everyday medical concerns as well as preventive and ongoing healthcare. If something needs more specialised assessment, your GP can discuss the appropriate next step with you.
Explore General PracticeIt can be frustrating to explain the same medical history every time you see a doctor. A regular family GP can gradually become familiar with your health history, medications, previous investigations and ongoing concerns: so the conversation does not always have to begin from zero.
Context your doctor already holds.
What you take and why it was started.
Earlier tests kept in view.
What has changed since last time.
Results, monitoring and review.
A picture that builds over years.
For people managing long-term health conditions, taking regular medication or seeing several healthcare providers, that continuity can be particularly valuable.
Families may share more than an address. Certain health conditions and risk factors can also appear across generations. Knowing that a parent, sibling or other close relative has experienced a particular health problem does not mean the same thing will happen to you: but it can sometimes help your GP understand which areas of your health may deserve closer attention.
If you know of significant health conditions in your family, mention them during your appointment. Even incomplete information can be useful.
Some of the most useful conversations with your GP happen when you feel reasonably well. Depending on your age, health history and circumstances, this may involve discussions around family medical history, blood pressure, immunisation, screening, lifestyle, chronic disease risk or appropriate health assessments.
The goal is not to test everyone for everything. It is to understand what makes sense for you.

View ProfileA straightforward concern may fit comfortably into a standard GP consultation. But healthcare does not always arrive one issue at a time. Let reception know when you are booking if you need to discuss:
That gives the practice a better opportunity to arrange an appointment suited to what you actually need.

Coral Coast Doctors provides family medicine and family practice care from our medical centre in Cannonvale, caring for patients across different age groups and offering related GP services including women's health, men's health, children's health, preventive healthcare and chronic disease management.

View Our Cannonvale Medical CentrePhysical health and mental wellbeing often overlap. A GP can be a useful first person to speak with if you are concerned about stress, anxiety, low mood, sleep, concentration or how you have generally been coping. Your doctor can listen to what has been happening, consider relevant physical-health factors and discuss appropriate next steps.
If you want to discuss mental health or another complex concern, let reception know when booking so an appropriate appointment can be arranged.
Explore Mental Health ServicesSome medical concerns disappear after treatment. Others become something you manage over time. Family GPs help monitor health changes, review medications, discuss test results and coordinate care where needed.
Explore Chronic Disease ManagementYes. Our doctors provide healthcare for patients of all ages, from newborns and children through to adults and older people. Please book a separate appointment for each child who needs to be seen. Bring the child's Medicare card and any relevant health, immunisation or hospital records. The child must be present during both in-person and telehealth consultations.
Coral Coast Doctors offers bulk billed consultations for Medicare-eligible patients where the service is eligible under Medicare. Some services may not be eligible for bulk billing or may attract an out-of-pocket fee.
A standard appointment at Coral Coast Doctors is 10 minutes and is generally suitable for discussing one straightforward health concern. Please book a longer appointment for multiple health concerns; mental health concerns or a Mental Health Treatment Plan; chronic disease management or a complex medical problem; or detailed forms, assessments, procedures or comprehensive health checks. Selecting the appropriate appointment length gives your doctor enough time to provide thorough and safe care. Please speak with reception if you are unsure which appointment type to book.
